Track Hosts Snowbird Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, FL — The Florida State track team hosted the Snowbird
Invitational against Troy State Saturday at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee.
Due to rain, the meet only included throwing events.


Leading the men for FSU was Joseph Lawerence in the men’s discus throw
with a mark of 46.22 m. Lawerence also won the hammer toss by throwing
44.30m.


Winners for the Lady Seminoles were Vanessa Fuchs in the women’s discus
throw with a distance of 39.42m. Lakeisha Mose won the women’s hammer
throw with a mark of 46.30m.


In other news, Rikke Ronholt set a new FSU indoor school record for the
800 meters running 2:05.84 Saturday at the Butler University Invitational
in the RCA Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ronholt’s mark established an all
time ACC Indoor Record for the 800 meter runn and qualified her for next
week’s NCAA Championships.


Zuzette Mullings jumped 41’10 in the triple jump and 20’0 in the long
jump Friday, March 6th at the University of Indiana Invitational in
Bloomington Indiana. Mullings’ jumps meet NCAA provisional marks in the
events.
