TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
Florida State track and field head coach Bob Braman released his 2010 schedule over the weekend and it is a slate that features 13 indoor meets and 15 outdoor meets to challenge the Seminoles throughout the season.
“We’re real pleased with our schedule. Our staff has targeted the top national competitions for each event area,” head coach Bob Braman said.
The Seminoles will open the indoor season Jan. 15 at the Virginia Tech Invitational and will return to Blacksburg four more times during the year, including the ACC Indoor Championships on Feb. 25.
FSU will make trips to Kentucky, Arkansas, Washington, Iowa State and Notre Dame during the indoor season with everything concluding in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 12 with the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships.
“The schedule is very similar to the last 3-4 years, so we know it’ll provide us with the best competitions in order for both teams to compete for National Championships,” Braman said.
The outdoor season will begin on March 5 for the Seminoles as a group will likely head to North Florida for the season opener. Three weeks later FSU will host the first of its three meets when the FSU Relays are set to be held March 25-27.
A week later the Seminoles will send athletes to both the Texas and Florida Relays before hosting the Seminole Invite on April 9. Clemson will serve as host of the ACC Outdoor Championships which will take place April 16-18.
The Seminoles will then be off to the historic Penn Relays and then the Cardinal Invite hosted by Stanford before hosting their final meet of the season May 7-8, the FSU Twilight.
The NCAA Regionals will take place in Greensboro, N.C. on May 28-29 with a week off before the NCAA Outdoor Championships take place June 9-12 in Eugene, Ore.
