Frequently Asked Questions

  • What do Batgirls do at the baseball games?

The Batgirls assist in a variety of ways at each home game. They greet

sell programs, assist with concessions, retrieve bats and foul balls,
aid in promotions, and serve as hostesses at Dick Howser Stadium.

  • How many Batgirls will be selected?

The squad consists of 16 ladies. We also select several alternates.

  • Do past members have to re-interview?

Yes. The exception is for members who have been on the squad for at
least two years and have been asked to assist with the selection
    process.

  • Do we have to know something about baseball?

General baseball knowledge is very helpful.

  • If selected, do we get to travel with the team?

The only sponsored event that members travel to is the ACC Tournament.
A select number will participate in this event. Batgirls can travel, at
their own expense, to away games and work for the team.

  • Are uniforms provided?

Yes, the marketing department will provide shirts for all Batgirls.
Members are responsible for their own pants and shorts (appropriate
    length).

Other costs may occur and vary year-to-year.

  • What kind of time commitment does it take to be a Batgirl?

Times vary per week, depending on the baseball schedule. Members are
expected to work 75% of all the home games. Games last 3-4 hours and
Batgirls are expected to arrive at least an hour and a half before game
time and are expected to stay for the duration of the game. We will
