The Varsity Club

Varsity Club

The Florida State University Varsity Club is a prestigious
organization for former Seminole varsity athletes. The Club
originated as the “F” Club at the Florida State College of
Women and has been known by such names as the Letterman’s Club
and the Varsity “F” Club since 1947. The Varsity Club is open
to men and women who proudly participated in an intercollegiate
sport at Florida State. The annual dues of $75 provide entry
into the Varsity Club facility, access to all spring sporting
events (excluding tournaments), a quarterly newsletter, a
Varsity Club license plate, and a directory of former athletes.

To give you an idea of how our organization has grown, this
year represents the first time the Varsity Club has ever had a
full time staff member. On June 1, 1997, Brian Wade was hired
as the first Varsity Club Director.

As the new Varsity Club Facility in Doak Campbell Stadium
prepares for its second year, it is important to look at what
we have accomplished. With the generosity of over 350 private
gifts and over 1,300 members during the past two years, the
dream has become a reality. What started as a small room under
the stadium has turned into a state of the art facility with
150 permanent seats and a reception area with the capacity to
accommodate hundreds of members before, during, and after

This Club, located at the concourse level in the northwest
corner of Doak Campbell Stadium, is available to all Varsity
Club members. The Club hosts game day activities oriented
toward alumni varsity athletes as well as reunions and elegant
special receptions for coaches, players, and varsity alumni.

Every varsity athlete helped build the Seminole tradition
that is widely admired today as one of America’s great
collegiate programs. Now they have the opportunity to build a
facility that all Seminole athletes can enjoy with pride once
their playing days are over.
