TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Seminole Student Boosters in cooperation with Florida State University Athletics, Administration and Student Government released the 2010 TRUE Seminole Game Day Shirt, featuring first-year football coach Jimbo Fisher.
Since 2007, the TRUE Seminole campaign has served as both a fundraising project through the sale of t-shirts and a way of unifying Florida State fans, especially on football game days.
Endorsed by Fisher and the Florida State football program, the t-shirt will debut on the sidelines at the official TRUE Seminole home game against Brigham Young University on September 18. Fans are encouraged to wear the shirt on game day – and any day – in a show of support of the Seminoles.
The TRUE Seminole shirt can be purchased at www.seminoles.com. A portion of the proceeds are donated back to the University. The garnet shirt carries the slogan – TRUE Seminole Uprising: Take Doak Back – and features the Seminole head logo on the front and an image of Doak Campbell stadium and head coach Jimbo Fisher on the back. Produced by Nike and retailing for $17, the t-shirt comes in a full range of adult sizes.
“The most important thing is raising money for scholarships now and for our future,” Fisher said of the campaign’s effort.
The TRUE Seminole Campaign – an acronym for Tradition, Respect, Unity, and Excellence – has added nearly $180,000 to the athletic scholarship endowment fund and various Student Government sponsored activities over the past three years. Its mission is for Seminole fans to stand behind the football team and represent the school as one unified body of people.
