Yesterday, I put up a blog post on ESPN.com writer Mark Schlabach's Way-Too-Eearly Top 25 for 2012 in which he has the Florida State football team ranked No. 8.
I wanted to find out what FSU fans on Twitter thought of that early ranking. Here's some of the responses I received, including a mention from a former 'Noles player:
@DakotaNole: it's never too high
@SALONE_PIKIN: Motivation going into nxt yr
@coachowen15: On talent * what's returning just right. If mental focus improves, it could be special year. If not then disappointment
@iLoveMyNoles: I think based on our 2011 performance, but from a talent/potential standpoint, too low. I bliev 4-6 is the right range.
@Ale_Mil: i say no. 8 is just right! #NOLES
@jayyyybeeeee: Its too low but FSU didn't prove enough last year to get the confidence of the voters . Easily top 2 team next year potential
@UnconqueredSwagr: I think we are about right where we need to be. Not too high and not too low. Still Top 10! #Noles in '12
@jrehm23: seems about right. Maybe low teens? Either way, we gotta take care of business on the field #gonoles
@Rob13000: Way too optimistic. I love the Noles but after this season's preseason rating, I have to be extremely cautiously optimistic
*@MontraeHolland: It doesn't matter where we start as long as we end No.1
*Holland played offensive line for the Seminoles from 1999 to 2002 after redshirting in 1998.
