Twitter Vote: Greene Is MVP

Sept. 12, 2011

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Week two of the college football season is in the books and Florida State fans on Twitter have chosen their MVP from the Seminoles’ 62-10 win over Charleston Southern.

Wide receiver Rashad Greene earned the most votes this week, edging out fellow freshman Timmy Jernigan and redshirt junior quarterback EJ Manuel.

Like he did in his first game as a Seminole, Greene found the endzone — this time doing it twice in FSU’s 62-10 win over Charleston Southern.

The speedy rookie grabbed a 29-yard touchdown pass on a beautifully thrown ball from backup quarterback Clint Trickett and then registered a 69-yard score on his impressive catch and run in the fourth quarter.

The Albany, Ga. native is currently second on the team behind Rodney Smith with 126 yards receiving on just three catches. All three of his receptions this season have been touchdowns and he is currently averaging 42 yards per grab.

Others that received votes this week were Bert Reed, Smith, the FSU defense, Trickett and Terrence Brooks.

Each Sunday during the season, I will send out a tweet from @BrandonMellor asking for an MVP vote so stay tuned each week and tweet me back your pick at that time.
