RALEIGH, N.C. – On the eve of the 2009 ACC Softball Tournament, two Seminoles earned a spot on the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team announced on Thursday, May 7. Junior Carly Wynn was named to the first team while senior Michelle Snyder was awarded second team honors.
The starting centerfielder for Florida State, Wynn was also a 2008 first team member and has maintained a 3.77 cumulative GPA while majoring in psychology this year. The junior team captain currently leads the team with 40 runs scored and five triples which ranks her 15th in the NCAA.
A first time recipient of the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District award, Snyder earned second team honors after holding down a 3.47 cumulative GPA in her major of sport management. The senior third baseman graduated from Florida State this month and will return as the graduate assistant for the softball team next year while pursuing a master’s degree at FSU.
The Seminoles look to pick up a few more accolades at the ACC Tournament banquet hosted by NC State at 7 o’clock before entering the fight for a conference title with the first game against Boston College Friday at 2:30 p.m.
