TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – >On that list were freshmen Elizabeth Pepper and sophomore Tiffany Oliver as both will be making their first-ever NCAA appearance for Seminoles.

“We are excited to have Tiffany and Pepper qualify,” Head Coach Neil Harper said. “The times that made it this year were really fast and we had a few girls that were just shy of qualifying. Hopefully we can qualify some divers for the meet and have a big group to represent Florida State.”

A native from Poolesville, Md.,Pepper broke the school record at the Bulldog invitation last weekend in the 200 fly, touching in at a 1:56.92, qualifying her for the meet. She took down Lauren Sprag’s mark of 1:57.87 which was set in 2008. Pepper will swim the 200 fly on the last day at NCAA’s.

Oliver broke her own school record in the 100 free at the Bulldog Invitation last weekend, posting a 48.93 in the 100 free. In addition to the 100 free, the Southwest Ranches, Fla. native will also swim the 50 free.

The NCAA Zone Diving Qualifiers for both men and women will be next weekend at the University of Auburn, where all eight Seminole Divers will look to qualify for NCAA’s.

The qualifiers for the men’s swimming portion of NCAA’s will be announced next week. Senior Mateo De Angulo already punched his ticket to Federal Way, Wa., as he posted automatic qualifying times earlier this season in the 500 and 1650 free events. The Seminoles will also have two relays competing with the team of sophomore Paul Murray, juniors Trice Bailey, Mark Weber and David Sanders set to race in the 200 and 400 free relays.
