TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State divers Cameron Thatcher and Josh Davidson will compete at the 2017 USA Diving Winter National Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center (Dec. 13-19) while sophomore Vladimir Stefanik will race in three events at the 2017 LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark (Dec.13-17) at Royal Arena.
“It’s really amazing to have current, former and future FSU student-athletes competing at these world-class events,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “They’re not just happy to be going to these meets, they’ve set their goals to final, if not win events. I’m really excited to see what they can do this week.”
Thatcher and Davidson will both compete in all three springboard events, starting on Wednesday on 1-meter, followed by 3-meter prelims and semifinals on Thursday with the top 12 advancing to finals on Saturday.
Additionally, Thatcher and Davidson will close out the meet making their debut as a pair in 3-meter synchro on Dec. 18.

In Denmark, Stefanik will represent Slovakia in the 100m fly on Wednesday before racing the 200m free on Thursday and the 100m free on Saturday.
Former standout Pavel Sankovich will swim five individual events for Belarus, including the 50m back where he is the top seed.
He will begin the meet seeded fifth in the 100m fly before competing in the 100m back on Thursday where he is also the fifth seed. On Saturday, Sankovich will swim the 50m fly and 100 IM before closing out the meet with the 50m back on Sunday.
Signees Ida Hulkko (Finland) and Laura Glerup Jensen (Denmark) will also be competing. Hulkko is entered in the 50m, 100m, where she is seeded fifth and eighth respectively. She is also scheduled to compete in the 200m breast. Jensen is scheduled to race in the 200m free and 400m free.
