TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State indoor volleyball team will kick off its spring season slate with a three-match tournament against South Alabama, Alabama and Southern Mississippi on Saturday. All matches will be hosted by South Alabama. Florida State will play three-straight, starting at 1:30 p.m. against South Alabama. The Seminoles will follow up with a match against Alabama at 2:30 p.m. before closing out the day facing Sothern Mississippi at 3:30 p.m.
“I’m excited for the returning players to have an opportunity to compete this spring,” Florida State head coach Chris Poole said, “While our focus is not on team or winning or losing matches, of course we always want to be competitive as a team. Our main focus in the spring is to see how individual players perform and particularly how individuals handle pressure. We use the spring matches to help us gauge how a player is improving individually and what strengths or weaknesses they may have versus an opponent.”
In addition to Saturday, the Seminoles are also scheduled to head to Gainesville, Fla. to face Florida on March 22 before returning to face UCF at Santa Fe College on March 30 in their spring training session.
