TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Three Lady Seminoles hit .500 or better as the No.
22-ranked Florida State volleyball team improved to 4-0 with a 15-6, 15-9,
15-6 victory over Central Florida this evening at Tully Gym. Central
Florida falls to 1-3 with the loss.
Junior Aisha Thornton led all players with a match-high 21 kills on her
way to a .500 hitting performance. Sophomore Jennifer Werrick hit .520 with
15 kills while sophomore Kate Hemlepp led all players with a .583 hitting
percentage off of 8 kills, 1 error and 12 attempts.
“We’re happy with tonight’s win,” FSU head coach Dr. Cecile Reynaud said.
“I don’t think it’s ever difficult to get up for a match when you’re goals
are to be the best team in Florida, win the ACC and make it to the NCAA
Tournament — especially when you are playing a team that played in the
NCAA Tournament last year.”
The Golden Knights were held to a .098 team hitting performance while FSU
hit .471 for the match. The Tribe recorded 20 blocks assists on the
Florida State will travel to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the South Florida
