Volleyball Falls To Georgia Tech, 3-1

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Sophomore Norisha Campbell and senior Aisha
Thornton combined for 27 kills, but the Florida State volleyball team
fell in four games to Georgia Tech by scores of 15-10, 5-15, 12-15, 2-15
this afternoon at Tully Gymnasium. FSU falls to 8-19 overall and 1-13
in the ACC while the Yellow Jackets improve to 16-11 and 6-8 in the
conference.

The Lady Seminoles had just one error and hit .348 to go
victorious in game one, but Georgia Tech responded in game two and held
the Tribe to just six kills for the game. FSU had a late rally in game
three, but fell just short while in the final set, it was all Georgia
Tech. The Lady Jackets scored 13 unanswered points before Florida State
got on the board. Georgia Tech edged FSU in hitting .203 to .170 and
outblocked the Tribe 10-6.

Campbell led all FSU players with 14
kills while Thornton had a solid outing with 13 kills, 2 errors on 22
attempts for a .500 hitting performance. For Georgia Tech, Kyleen Bell
led the way with 14 kills, while Teryl Townsend added 12 kills. Anna
Nedderman hit a team-high .429 with seven kills.

“Aisha had a solid performance today,” FSU Head Coach Dr. Cecile
Reynaud said, “but as a team, we weren’t sharp with our serving or
blocking.”

FSU will face No. 4 Florida on Tuesday, November 9 at 7 p.m. in
Gainesville.
