TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State volleyball team
fell to No. 9 UC Santa Barbara in three games, 3-15, 5-15 and 6-15, this
evening at Tully Gymnasium. With the loss, FSU falls to 3-5 while the
Gauchos remain perfect at 8-0.
Junior Jennifer Werrick, who was named to the
Huskie Invitational All-Tournament Team following last weekend’s action,
led the team with 10 kills. Sophomore middle hitter Norisha Campbell
hit .410 and added three blocks. UCSB hit .413 as a team and was led by
Roberta Gehlke’s 12 kills and four blocks.
The Lady Seminoles led only one time in the
match when down 0-3 in game three, they scored four straight points to
take the advantage. UCSB responded with a six-point rally of their own.
“I was disappointed in our passing tonight,” FSU
Head Coach Dr. Cecile Reynaud said. “UC Santa Barbara is a very
talented and experienced team which is evident by their undefeated

again this weekend with a 7 p.m. match vs. Florida Atlantic on Friday,
Sept. 17 and a Noon contest with Liberty on Saturday, Sept. 18.
