TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – With the Florida State University volleyball team already showing several signs of promise this spring, one more test remains on its schedule as it hosts Atlantic Coast Conference rival Georgia Tech and Auburn on Saturday, April 16, at Tully Gym.
The Seminoles will play as many as four matches on Saturday, beginning with a 10 a.m. contest against Georgia Tech on the main court. FSU then faces the Auburn Blue team at 11:15 a.m. on the main court, and matches up against the Auburn Orange team at 1:45 p.m. A lunch break will occur at approximately 12:15 p.m. between matches.
If needed, FSU could possibly play a fourth match around 2:45 p.m. against either of Auburn’s travel teams.
Returning 11 student-athletes from last year’s team that reached the second round of the NCAA Championship, FSU has gotten consistent production from all areas this spring. Most notably, it has been the play at the middle blocker position, which includes sophomores Sareea Freeman and Marija Milosavljevic as well as freshman Ashley Neff, which has allowed the Seminoles to rack up a high number of blocks.
Following Saturday’s home event, FSU will have its last day of spring practice on April 22. The team’s fall schedule will be released at a later date.
