ATLANTA — The Lady Seminole volleyball team fell to 8-6 overall and
0-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a four-set loss to the Georgia
Tech Yellow Jackets this afternoon. FSU dropped the first two games 12-15,
8-15 but came back to take game three 15-8 before falling 5-15 in the final
game. Georgia Tech improves to 12-6 overall and 1-1 in ACC play.
Senior middle hitter Susan Hawks led the Lady Seminoles with a .529
hitting performance off of 22 kills, four errors and 34 attempts. Senior
outside hitter Holly Schneider also had 22 kills and 21 digs for her ninth
double-double of the season. Freshman middle hitter Norisha Campbell, who
is playing in place of injured leading hitter and blocker Aisha Thornton,
saw action in all four games and had four blocks. Setter Fiona Bolten
recorded a season-high 64 assists and was second on the team with 19 digs.
Today’s match ended a 10-match road swing for Florida State. The Lady
Seminoles, who have not played at home since a 3-0 win over Central Florida
on September 8th, will take a break from league play on Wednesday, Sept.
30th when they host Jacksonville at 7 p.m. FSU will resume ACC play with a
double-dose of league action this weekend. Wake Forest will visit Tully
Gym on Friday, Oct. 2nd at 7 p.m. followed by Duke on Saturday at 7 p.m.
