TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Led by junior middle hitter Norisha Campbell‘s
15 kills, the Florida State volleyball team improved to 15-8 overall and
3-5 in the ACC with a 15-13, 15-6, 13-15, 15-8 win over Clemson, Sunday
afternoon at Tully Gym.

After trailing early in game one, the Lady Seminoles rallied back
to take command of the match. Florida State’s success came at the net as
the Tribe outblocked the Tigers 19-8 for the match. For the third straight
match, sophomore Dawn Hough led the FSU attack with a team-high seven
blocks. Four Lady Seminoles tallied double-digit kills. Aside from
Campbell, three sophomores, Alex Sevillano, Kristin Frye and Erica Bunch
contributed 13, 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Bunch also added 10 digs to
the effort. Freshman setter Jennifer Anderson started the match but played
just one game while sophomore Jamie Hibbard came in and had a stellar
performance. Hibbard recorded a double-double with 38 kills and a
team-high 11 digs. The team hit .265 for the match.

“Today was a good win for us,” FSU Head Coach Dr. Cecile Reynaud
said. “We had a lot of different players step up and boost us when we
needed it. I thought our concentration was good. We let the third game
get away from us, but we came back fighting in the fourth game and got the
win. Our blocking was also a key today.”

Florida State will not play again until next weekend, when the Lady
Seminoles travel to North Carolina for a 7 p.m. match on Friday, October
20th and follow that with a 5 p.m. meeting at NC State on Saturday, October
21st.
