The Opening Tip (What You Need To Know):

  • Trying to snap a two-game losing streak, the Florida State women’s basketball team returns to Tallahassee to take on NC State Thursday (Feb. 7) at 7 p.m.

  • Thursday’s game with NC State is the Seminoles’ “Think Pink” game. FSU’s goal is to raise $10,000 through ticket sales, a silent auction and a Shots For A Cure Fundraiser after the game. All monies raised will go to the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

  • Guard Tanae Davis-Cain (Dawson, Ga.) scored a career-high 28 points against Georgia Tech. Her personal-best six three-pointers moved her up to sixth in school history at 100 three pointers. She has scored in double figures in all nine games that she has played this season.

  • Over her last four games, forward Jacinta Monroe (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) is averaging 14.8 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per game.

  • Florida State continued its success from the free throw line Sunday against Georgia Tech. The Seminoles were 18-of-23 from the stripe (78.3 percent) for their 11th game of 70 percent or better in their last 12 outings.
