TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After a successful weekend that saw the Florida State track and field teams posting several impressive NCAA marks, junior Kim Williams (Kingston, Jamaica) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Performer of the Week for her dominating triple jump at the Seminole Invitational.
“This honor is notable because Kim has battled back from injuries and is rounding into top form at just the right time,” FSU Head Coach Bob Braman said.
The Seminole kicked off her outdoor season in notable fashion as the four-time NCAA Champion leaped the nation’s best triple jump on Saturday with a mark of 13.52m/44-04.25 that captured first place.
She went on to also dominate the long jump as the junior leaped 5.93m/19-05.50 to earn first place and is noted as the seventh best performance in the ACC this season.
Williams and the rest of the Seminole squad will travel to Clemson, SC to compete at the 2010 ACC Championships beginning Thursday, April 16 at Clemson’s Rock Norman Track and Field Complex.
