Women Swimmers Finish 6th at the ACC Championships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team finished 6th in the ACC Championships this afternoon, hosted by Maryland. Virginia won their second straight title with UNC, Maryland, Clemson and NC State rounding out the top five.


Lisa Kirsch started the night for the Lady Seminoles her 7th place finish in the 1650 Free. Tanya Gurr finished 5th in the 100 Free as Kristen Adams finished 14th in the same event. Samantha White took the 5th spot in the 200 Breast with Sherri Fowler finishing 14th in the event. Marya Sabeksy took 2nd in the 3-meter diving with Caren Hirai finishing 13th on the board. Anne Blachford, Gurr, Adams and Karin Holmstedt took the 5th place finish in the 400 Free Relay, the final event of the championships.


The Lady Seminoles finish their season with a 4-4 record overall, 1-1 in ACC dual meets.
