Women’s Basketball Alumnae Light It Up

Feb. 13, 2000

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – It was just like old times for former Florida State
players who participated in the program’s 1st Annual Alumnae game Sunday
afternoon. Tia Paschal’s (1989-93) double-double of 15 points and 10
rebounds helped lead the White team to an 85-81 victory while the Garnet
team was led by Jen Robinson (1995-99), who scored a game-high 20 points,
connected on four three-pointers and had 12 assists.

“It was fun and exciting,” Robinson said. “The alumnae – we can still play.
It felt good to meet everybody, since most of us played under different
coaches.”

Robin Storey Taylor (1987-89) scored 16 points, including three treys, in
just 12 minutes of play for the Garnet, while Tamara Gracey (1998-99) also
tallied double figures with 13 points. Brenda Cliette (1983-87) led the
squad with 10 boards.

“This gives me good incentive to get in shape,” Taylor said. “I had lots
of fun, but I still hate to lose.”

Arleshia Davidson and Aletha Penn, who played together from 1995-98,
contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the White team.

“I thought it was great for us old timers to come back and play,” Paschal
said. “I really enjoyed myself and I was really happy to see the Seminoles
beat Maryland. I was glad to see them on top.”
