THE SERIES
Saturday’s contest will be the 23rd meeting between the Seminoles and the Cavaliers. UVA has a 21-1 series advantage. The two teams split the series this season and played one another in the regular-season finale. The Cavaliers won that game 77-65. In the first meeting between these two clubs on January 24th, FSU earned its first-ever victory over Virginia with a 60-58 win in Tallahassee. The series dates back to the 1990-91 season.

ALL-ACC HONORS
The 2000-01 All ACC women’s basketball teams were announced by league officials on Tuesday and Florida State was well represented. Senior co-captain Brooke Wyckoff, a native of West Chester, Ohio, was named a first team All-ACC selection and became the first FSU player to garner such an honor since Tia Paschal in 1992-93, while senior Levys Torres and junior April Traylor were named to the third team. Wyckoff also earned ACC All Defensive Team honors for the second straight season.
The All-ACC honors this season marks the first time since joining the league that FSU has placed three players on All-ACC teams in one season.

FSU IN THE ACC TOURNAMENT
FSU’s No. 4 seed is the Seminoles’ highest ACC ranking in the tournament since joining the league in 1991-92. The Seminoles have recorded two wins in 10 ACC tourney appearances. This season will mark the second time that FSU has met Virginia in ACC Tournament action.
