TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Michele Van Gorp scored 26 points and had eight
rebounds Monday night, leading No. 11 Duke to a 92-75 win over Florida State.
The Blue Devils (16-4, 9-0 ACC) beat Florida State (6-12, 1-8) for the 10th
straight time. Duke won its 12th straight game since losing to No. 3 Tennessee
on Jan. 6.
Duke led 46-34 at halftime, outscoring Florida State 21-6 in the final five
minutes to erase a three-point deficit.
The Seminoles never got closer than 11 points in the second half. After
Florida State scored seven straight points to cut the deficit to 75-62 with
6:57 left, Van Gorp scored inside on three straight possessions to push the
lead to 81-65.
The Seminoles, who trailed by as many as seven points early in the game,
took a 28-25 lead with 6:12 remaining in the first half on a layup by Angela
But Duke scored nine straight points, including a pair of 3-pointers by
Howard, to take a 37-28 lead.
