THE SERIES
Monday’s contest will be the 23rd meeting
between the Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets. The
series, which dates back to the 1974-75 season, is
all tied up at 11-11. With its 66-65 win in Atlanta
this season, Florida State has won three straight
over Georgia Tech. Since joining the ACC in 1991-92,
FSU has recorded two sweeps over Tech — in the
1997-98 and 1999-00 seasons.

ALREADY THERE
With 12 wins, Florida State has already matched
its win total off all of last season. FSU’s four ACC
wins also ties last year’s total wins. FSU’s best ACC
record was 8-8 in 1991-92 — the Noles first year in
the league.

SUPERLATIVES

  • Florida State has shot better than 50 percent in
    five games.

  • Florida State has outrebounded its opponent in 15
of 20 games. There was also one tie.

  • FSU has had double-digit assists in 17 games,
    including a season-high 23 assists in the UNC-Asheville
    game.

  • FSU has won its 12 games by an average of 20.5
    points per game.

  • FSU has won its 4 ACC games by an average of 9.5
    points per game.

  • FSU is 8-2 at home this season.

    NONCONFERENCE ACTION
FSU went 8-3 in non-ACC games this season,
including a 3-3 record on the road. FSU’s only losses
to nonconference opponents this season came to the
SEC’s Florida by 14, UT-Chattanooga of the Southern
Conference by 10 points and No. 15 Xavier, of the
    Atlantic 10, 75-72.

    AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS
The Xavier game marked the sixth game FSU has
played against a ranked opponent this season. FSU is
currently 3-3 against ranked opponents this season.

    ACC RECORD
FSU is 4-5 in the ACC. The Seminoles’ 4-4 record
at the halfway mark matched the Seminoles best start ever
in league play. FSU also started 4-4 in the 1991-92 season
and finished 8-8 — good for 5th place in the league.
