THE SERIES Florida State and NC State have met 18 times and the Wolfpack hold a 15-3 series advantage. FSU's last win over NC State was in the 1993-94 season -- a 59-58 victory on February 20, 1994 in Raleigh. Last season, the two games were quite close. The Wolfpack edged FSU 62-58 in Tallahassee and took a 72-62 win in Raleigh.
ACC OPENERS FSU will be looking for its first win in an ACC opener when the Tribe hosts NC State. Since joining the ACC in 1991-92, the Seminoles are 0-9 in ACC openers.
THE BEST START SINCE FSU's 8-2 record is its best start in a decade. In the 1990-91 season, the Seminoles started 14-2 and finished 25-7. FSU's last winning season was in 1991-92 with a record of 17-11.
