THE SERIES North Carolina holds a 17-5 all-time record over Florida State in a series that dates back to the 1981-82 season. FSU's last win over the Tar Heels was a 73-64 victory on February 9, 1996 in Tallahassee. The contests have been very close the past couple of seasons as the Seminoles have lost to the Tar Heels by an average of just nine points in the last four meetings.
