TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)– Sha Brooks scored 24 points to lead Florida to a 72-57 upset of Florida State (No. 21 ESPN/USA Today, No. 22 AP) on Sunday.

The Gators (3-1) took their first lead at 6-4 and never trailed again, leading by as many as 16. It was Florida’s first win over a top 25 team in its last 15 tries and the first win over a ranked opponent in Florida coach Amanda Butler’s four-year career.

The Seminoles (3-1) shot just 32 percent from the floor and 22 percent from 3-point range. Despite Florida State having a huge height advantage, the Gators outrebounded the Seminoles 42-35. Florida State had won its last two meetings with Florida.

Jacinta Monroe led Florida State with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
