The 5-1 Florida State women’s basketball team opens ACC play with a 7 p.m. contest at 4-2 Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The Seminoles have won four straight over the Yellow Jackets, who are coming off of a loss to Southern. Junior Shinikki Whiting continues to pace Florida State as she leads the team in scoring at 19.0 points and rebounding at 6.8 rebounds per game. The game will be aired on WFLA News Radio AM 1270.

THE SERIES
Wednesday will be the 24th meeting between the Seminoles and the Yellow Jackets. Florida State has won four straight over Georgia Tech and now leads the series 12-11. The series dates back to the 1974-75 season. Since joining the ACC in 1991-92, FSU has recorded three sweeps over Tech — in the 1997-98, 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons.
