The Seminoles’ No. 14 ranking also means they have reached their 50th consecutive week of staying in the Top 15 of the USA TODAY Poll. FSU has stayed in the Top 15 threshold for nearly 2 ½ years.

Highlighting the strength of the league once again, FSU comes in as the fourth-highest ranked Atlantic Coast Conference team. Notre Dame is rated fifth, Louisville is 10th and Duke is 12th. Miami is the other Top 25 ACC team at 24th.

Based on the poll numbers, FSU will have five opponents and six games overall in the regular season against preseason Top 25 competition. At the Donald L. Tucker Center, the fifth-ranked Fighting Irish play FSU on Sunday, Jan. 28, at 4 p.m. on ESPN2. No. 24 Miami is also in Tallahassee on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Florida/Sun.

The Seminoles play No. 6 Texas (Sunday, Dec. 17, 12:30 p.m., FS1), Louisville (Sunday, Jan. 21, 5 p.m., ESPN2), Duke (Monday, Feb. 19, 6 p.m., ESPN2) and another game vs. Miami (Sunday, Feb. 11, 4 p.m., ESPN2) on the road.

Last week, Florida State was selected fourth in the ACC predicted order of finish, while senior forward Shakayla Thomas was chosen as a preseason All-ACC Team member by both the league’s head coaches and the Blue Ribbon Panel.

Florida State hosts Columbus State in its lone exhibition of the season on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. The season opener is on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. against UNF.
