Women’s Golf Eighth at Fairwood Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La.– The Florida State Lady Seminoles are in eighth place
after one round of the LSU Fairwood Invitational at the Fairwood Country
Club in Baton Rouge, LA. The Lady Seminole team score of 312 is three
strokes behind Texas Tech and two ahead of Tulane University.

The Lady Seminoles were led by Amy Spooner, who fired an opening round 75
today. She currently stands in a tie for 10th place. Junior Amy Bond is
tied for 18th after a round of 76. Louise Wright, playing in her second
tournament of the year, opened with an 80 and a tie for 46th position.
Sarah Capie and Erika Iding rounded out the scoring for the Tribe with
rounds of 81 and 85, respectively. Aguri Okura shot a round of 81 as she
was playing as an individual.

The University of Memphis is in the lead by two strokes over UCLA, while
Amanda Moltke-Leth of Memphis is in the individual lead with a 70 today.

The second round of the LSU Fairwood Invitational will take place
tomorrow morning.
