Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth At Ryder Florida Collegiate Championships

MIAMI, Fla. — The Florida State women’s golf team finished in four
place out of 15 teams in the Ryder Florida Women’s Collegiate Championships
on Monday at Don Shula’s Golf Resort in Miami Lakes, Fla. FSU finished
with a three-round total of 945 (+81), 44 shots behind winner Central
Florida.

Louise Wright was the Lady Seminoles top finisher, taking seventh
place. After shooting an opening round 80, she carded a 73 and a 77 for a
three-round total of 14-over par, 230. Wright finished six strokes behind
individual winner Monica Gundersrud of Central Florida. Gundersrud
defeated Paula Marti of Florida in a playoff. Wright’s seventh place
finish was her second straight top 10 finish.

Kris Tamulis took 11th place, finishing at 17-over, 233. She carded
rounds of 75, 81 and 77. Freshman Beth McCumber tied for 20th at 25-over,
241 (83-80, 78).

Florida State’s other finishers were Alison Zimmer and Kristen
Sanborn. Zimmer tied for 22nd at 26-over, 242 (80-80-82) while Sanborn
tied for 36th at 33-over, 249 (83, 85, 81).
