The Florida State women’s golf team is in sixth place after one round of the Ryder-Florida State Women’s Golf Championships at the Miami Lakes Country Club. The Lady Seminole team score of 318 is two strokes behind Rollins College and four back of Florida International.
Amy Bond, a junior from Ocala, Fla., is in second place after the first round. Bond is one stroke back of Riko Higashio of Florida after an opening-round 73. Amy Spooner is tied for 16th after a 78 in Friday’s round. Erica Iding, returning after sitting out the Lady Gamecock Classic, is tied for 37th with a first-round 83. Louise Wright and Sarah Capie rounded out the scoring for the Tribe, with rounds of 84 and 88, respectively.
The second round of the tournament will take place Saturday morning.
