MESA, Ariz. (Seminoles.com) – The fourth-ranked Florida State Women’s Golf team is in third place at 13-under through two rounds played at the Clover Cup held at Longbow Golf Club.
Matilda Castren shot a 3-under 69 on Saturday to lead the Seminoles, building off her 2-under 70 score from the first round. Castren is 5-under for the tournament. Oklahoma’s Julienne Soo has built a sizeable five-stroke lead from second-place Monica Vaughn of Arizona State (-7).
Both Morgane and Kim Metraux are tied for seventh at 4-under, with Morgane recording one of the five eagles made on the day. Castren also produced an eagle to contribute to her quality score.
Tied for 19th amongst the field is Lydia Gumm, who has recorded consecutive scores of 72 to stay at even par. Amanda Doherty is 3-over and tied for 28th.
All five Seminoles will tee off on Sunday in a shot-gun start at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. MT. FSU looks to gain some strokes on tournament leader Arizona State (-20) as well as second-place Houston (-14).
