Women’s Golf Second at ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Florida State women’s golf team is in second place after one round of the ACC Championships at the Grandover East Golf Course in Greensboro, NC. The Lady Seminole team score of 300 is nine strokes back of Duke University.

Senior Amy Bond is tied for the lead after posting an opening round 71. Bond, an All-ACC selection a year ago, is tied with the No. 1 player in the country, Beth Bauer, and Jenny Chuasiriporn of Duke. Erika Iding is alone in fourth place, one stroke off the lead. Amy Spooner is tied with two other golfers for ninth place after firing a 76 on Friday. Sarah Capie and Louise Wright are tied for 19th with an opening score of 81.

The Wake Forest University is three strokes behind the Lady Seminoles, followed by North Carolina at 313. The second round of the tournament will take place tomorrow morning in Greensboro.
