Women’s Golf Team in Second Place after Two Rounds

MIAMI – The Florida State women’s golf team is in second place after two rounds of the Ryder-Florida State Championships at the Miami Lakes Country Club in Miami Lakes, FL. The Lady Seminoles team score of 616 is eight strokes behind the University of Central Florida. The Tribe shot the low team total of the day as they recorded a 296 in Saturday’s round.

Seniors Amy Bond and Amy Spooner lead the Lady Seminoles after two rounds. Bond posted a 74 in the second round to go with her 79 in the opening round. Spooner, along with Bond, is tied for fifth with two-day totals of 153. Sophomore Louise Wright is in a tie for 14th with a two-round total of 157. Sarah Capie rebounded from an opening round 82 to card a 76 in today’s round. Capie is tied with two other golfers at 158. Erika Iding rounded out the scoring for the Lady Seminoles with a 74. She is tied for 21st at 159.

The final round of the Ryder-Florida State Championships will take place tomorrow morning.
