TULSA, Okla. — The Florida State women’s golf team is preparing to make its fourth appearance of the decade in the NCAA Championships as competition begins Wednesday, May 19th at 8 a.m. at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. The Championships will conclude on Saturday, May 22nd.
ESPN2 will cover second and third round action live on Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s final round will be shown on ESPN2 on tape delay on Sunday, May 23rd, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.
Florida State’s Amy Bond was selected to play in the annual East-West Regional match being played today in Tulsa. The match features 10 players from each region as selected by the National Golf Coaches Association. Bond will tee-off with South Florida’s Kelly Lagedrost, Stanford’s Stephanie Keever, and Oklahoma State’s Maria Bolden. Among the other participants in this all-star event are reigning U.S. Women’s Amateur Champion Grace Park of Arizona State, the nation’s top-ranked player from Duke University freshman Beth Bauer, and defending national medalist and currently the No. 2 ranked player in the country, Jennifer Rosales from Southern Cal. Last year the East Region defeated the West Region by a score of 8 1/2 to 6 1/2.
Amy Bond, Erika Iding, Amy Spooner, Sarah Capie and Louise Wright will represent Florida State at the Championships after finishing fifth at the East Regional in Columbia, S.C., May 6-8.
