Women’s Soccer Loses To #16 Clemson

Sept. 27, 1998

TALLAHASSEE, FL — Florida State women’s soccer fell to #12 Clemson 2-0
this afternoon at the site of the new Seminoles Soccer Complex. FSU falls
to 3-6-0 as the Tigers improve to 5-3-0.

“We did a better job of posessing the ball this afternoon and keeping the
ball on the ground,” Head Coach Heather Kerby-Nelson said. “We battled
better today and won more 50/50 balls than earlier in the season. The key
to the rest of the season is taking those balls and turning them into
goals.”

Jenny Crawford scored Clemson’s first goal three minutes into the game
and the Seminoles held the Tigers until the 46th minute when Nancy
Augustyniak scored the final goal. The Seminoles had four shots on goal and
goalkeeper Jamie Gurtov had ten saves.

Florida State returns to action Tuesday, September 29 at 7pm as they host
Georgia State.
