Women’s Soccer Tops #15 Maryland in Overtime, 3-2

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Seniors Jill Ford and Alex Osorio led the Florida State women’s soccer team to a 3-2 overtime victory over #15 Maryland this afternoon in College Park, Maryland. This is the first ACC win for the
Seminoles this season and first since their 4-2 win over N.C. State in
1996.

Maryland scored the first goal of the match at the 10:40 mark and Ford
answered five minutes later with her first goal of the game. Ford then gave
the Seminoles the lead before halftime with a goal in the 30th minute off
an assist from Lauren Lynch. Maryland scored off a corner kick in the 80th
minute to send the game into overtime. Osorio took a thru ball from Lauren
Lynch and scored FSU’s winning goal ten minutes into overtime to give the
Seminoles the 3-2 win and their first win over ever the Terrapins.

Florida State improves to 6-9-2 (1-4-0 in ACC) as Maryland falls to 8-5-1
(3-2-0 in ACC). The Seminoles will travel to Duke on Friday, October 23 for
a 7pm match and to NC State on Sunday, October 25 for a 1pm match to finish
their ACC regular season.
