Women’s Soccer Tops South Florida, 1-0

TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida State soccer team topped the South Florida
Bulls tonight 1-0 in Tampa, taking their second win of the season. The
Seminoles improved to 2-2 as the Bulls fell to 2-2.

Sophomore Maren Vik Edvardsen headed in the winning gaol off an
assist from freshman Katie Talley in the 32nd minute to give the Seminoles
the 1-0 lead. The Seminoles held off the Bulls as senior goalkeeper knabbed
11 saves while the defense fought off 12 shots in the second half to give
FSU the win. Sophomore Marte Vik Edvardsen led with seven shots with Gina
Iacovella taking three shots.

The 2-2 Seminoles will return to action on Thursday, September 9 as
they take on the Stetson Hatters at the Seminole Soccer Complex at 7pm. The
match will be televised live on the Sunshine Network.
