Women’s Swimming and Diving Competes in ACC Championships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team finished their second day of competition today in the ACC Championships, hosted by the University of Maryland. The Lady Seminoles, with 294 points, are 4th behind Virginia (504), North Carolina (473) and Maryland (315).

Liska Dedekind, Samantha White, Anne Blachford and Amber Goodwin started the night out for the Lady Seminoles, finishing 4th int he 200 Medley Relay with an NCAA Consideration time of 1:44.30. Tanya Gurr finished 3rd in the 200 Free in an NCAA Consideration time of 1:48.80 as Kristen Adams finished 6th in the event in a consideration time of 1:50.47. Blachford took the 4th place spot in the 100 Breast with a consideration time of 1:03.35 as White finished 5th with her consideration time of 1:03.74. Dedekind, Goodwin and Sarah Scobey finished 7th, 9th and 11th respectively in the 100 Back. Gurr, Adams, Ann Parker and Karin Holmstedt took 3rd in the 800 Free Relay in a pool record time of 7:28.06 to finish the competition for the Lady Seminoles tonight.

The Lady Seminoles will complete their final day of competition tomorrow with the preliminaries at 11:00am and the finals at 7:00pm.
