TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team was recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as one of the top program’s in the nation for their academic achievements.
The Seminoles women’s squad was one of 341 teams honored for achieving a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) or higher during the Fall 2009 semester. Florida State’s 3.15 GPA earned their spot on the CSCAA Scholar-Athlete All-American list.
“This award is justified recognition to the work ethic and academic achievement our women have displayed,” said Head Coach Neil Harper. “They demonstrate each day what it means to be a student-athlete, doing their best in school and in competition.”
In addition to their achievements in the pool and on the boards, Florida State’s swimming and diving programs are no strangers to excelling in the classroom. Last school year 27 student-athletes were on the ACC Academic Honor Roll and nine athletes were named to the All-ACC Academic Swimming and Diving Team.
