Women’s Tennis Comes Home From Invite With A Championship

ATLANTA — The Florida State women’s tennis team completed
competition today at the Yellow Jacket Invitational Sunday, hosted by Georgia
Tech. No. 1 seed Allida Gallovits came home Sunday with the Flight A
Championship.

Gallovits faced teammate and doubles partner Christina Denny Sunday
morning in the final round of the Flight A singles draw. Gallovits and Denny
went head to head with Gallovits coming out on top. Denny fell to Gallovits
4-6, 4-6.

Other winners in Sunday’s singles play included Bobbi Guthrie of
Georgia Tech in Flight B over her teammate Jamie Wong, 6-2, 6-2. In Flight C
Sonja Prokopek of UCF defeated Jennifer Hodgman of Iowa, 6-3, 6-0. Steffi
Hoch of Iowa took the Flight D Championship.

The Florida State women’s tennis team will head to the University
of Miami Oct. 27-29 for the Hurricane Classic.
