Women’s Tennis Comes Up Just Short of Advancing Two into the Main Draw

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – With a position in the Riviera/ITA All-American main draw on the line sophomore Emmanuelle Salas came up just short in singles and in doubles with partner, Carla Touly.

Salas and Touly began their day with their second doubles win of the tournament, earning an 8-4 win over Mississippi State’s Adaloglou and Antonaki. This win sent the Seminole duo into the final round of doubles qualifying with a shot at the main draw on the line. Salas and Touly came up just short as they lost to the No. 29th ranked pair of Jada Hart and Elysa Bolton from UCLA.

In singles, Salas needed just one win to advance to the main draw, but once again came up just short. She lost to No. 103 Katarina Stesnakova out of Oklahoma State 6-3, 6-1.

In the consolation doubles bracket, senior Ariana Rahmanparast and junior Nandini Das lost to the 59th ranked doubles pair of Brylin and Omirou of Wake Forest 8-1.

Touly begins play in the main draw today against Meible Chi of Duke at 1:30 PT.
