Freshman Lisa Nytrom Skold was the lone Seminole to earn a victories in singles play this weekend as she collected two victories before losing to Rice’s Medeja Egic in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 7-5) during the semifinal round of the Gold draw.
In the singles Red draw, freshman Suzanna Mansour fell to ACC foe Lyndsey Shosho of Georgia Tech, 6-4, 6-3. Junior transfer Whitney Eber lost a 6-2, 2-6, 11-9 battle to Helene Lindstand of USD in the Black draw. After receiving a first round bye, senior Alina Mihailescu came up short to Rice’s Kimberley Patenaude by scores of 7-6 (6), 6-2, in the Gold bracket.
As for doubles action, FSU also had a tough day on the courts. The Mansour/Eber tandem dropped an 8-4 contest to Nielsen/Hauerlandova of
