THE WOMEN’S TENNIS 4-1-1:
The Florida State women’s tennis team plays four of the next five matches on the road, starting with No. 53 Boston College Friday and No. 28 Maryland on Sunday. Both matches are slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. The Seminoles enter this week with a respectable 7-4 record while the Eagles are 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Terrapins are 8-4 on the season and 1-0 in ACC action. The Seminoles are led by Nicola Slater who has an impressive 7-3 dual record with a 4-1 mark in the fourth slot. As for doubles, FSU has featured 11 different combinations this season and the Suzanna Mansour and Ania Rynarzewska duo has the best record at 5-2. FSU has a very young team, considering two underclassmen–Rynarzewska (freshman) and sophomore Tapiwa Marobela–compete at the top two positions.
ITA NATIONAL RANKINGS:
Florida State enters the week ranked No. 68 in the nation and no one is ranked in singles or doubles. The new team rankings are released on Wednesday of each week.
FLORIDA STATE VS. BOSTON COLLEGE:
Friday’s meeting will be the first all-time match between the Seminoles and Eagles. Boston College finished the season ranked third in the Big East before joining the Atlantic Conference at the start of the season.
FLORIDA STATE VS. MARYLAND:
Friday’s meeting will be the 14th all-time meeting between the Seminoles and Terrapins; FSU holds a 13-1 advantage. Last regular season, Florida State won 6-1. A LOOK AHEAD: Florida State will return home on March 15 for a 2pm match against North Carolina.
