Women’s Tennis Defeats Southern Miss, 9-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Head coach Lise Gregory’s 1999 squad heads into tommorrow afternoon’s match with the Auburn Tigers undefeated. The Lady Seminoles handed Southern Miss there second loss of the season this
afternoon. The Noles did not drop a set all day and cruised to a 9-0

Leading the way for Florida State was sophomore Nanette Duxin who won her match at No.1 over Southern Miss No.1 player Patricia Kundisova, 6-0,6-0. Duxin then teamed with Alida Gallovits to win their doubles match at No.1, 8-4. Gallovits improved her record to 3-0, with a straight set victory over Southern Miss’s No.2 player Caroline Weems, 6-4, 6-3. Other winners included Ali Weber, Kia Asberg, and two freshmen Jessica Balbuena and Marina Raic.

The team is playing dominating tennis as Florida State as a team, has lost only two sets this dual match season. Against both Jacksonville and
Southern Miss this year, the Lady Seminoles did not lose a set the entire
match. The FSU women will next be on the court, Sunday, February 7th at
Scott Speicher Tennis Center here in Tallahassee, Florida.
