Women’s Tennis Drops Match to Maryland

COLLEGE PARK, Md.–The Florida State women’s tennis team dropped it’s match to the
University of Maryland, 5-4, on Saturday at College Park, Maryland. For
the Seminoles, it was their third 5-4 loss in a row to an ACC foe. With
the loss the women’s record falls to 2-5 and 0-3 in the ACC.

Winners on the day at singles were Kia Asberg who defeated Thea Ivanisvec
in three sets 2-6, 6-1, 6-0 and Helena Karlsson who beat Chrissie Terril
6-2, 6-4. Florida State took two of three doubles, but the team of Sasha
Hanna and Asberg couldn’t defeat Meg Griffin and Lorraine Bittles at No. 1
doubles to win the match.

Florida State plays again on Sunday when they travel to Charlottesville
to play the University of Virginia in ACC play at 10:00 a.m.
