Women’s Tennis Faces No. 2 Florida Wednesday

Gainesville, FL – The Florida State women’s tennis team (4-0), playing without its top player, faces second-ranked Florida (4-0) on Wednesday at the Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex beginning at 5 p.m.

The Gators sport a 45-0 all-time record against the Seminoles, including last year’s 6-1 victory in Tallahassee.

Florida State (4-0) is undefeated after Sunday’s 6-1 win over Stetson despite playing without 18th-ranked Carolin Walter, who plays the No. 1 singles and doubles positions.  She will miss Wednesday’s match. 

 Florida owns an impressive 337-25 record at home, including a 2-0 mark this season and has won 14 consecutive dating back to a 4-3 loss to Miami on May 15, 2004 in the second round of the NCAA Championships.
