Women’s Tennis Falls To Florida Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Lady Seminole tennis team fell to the
second-ranked Florida Gators 5-1 this afternoon at the Ring Tennis Complex
in Gainesville, Fla. Florida State falls to 2-2 as the Gators improve to
2-0.

Kia Asberg scored FSU’s lone point this afternoon, overcoming a
sprained ankle to win the match 7-6 (4), 6-4 at the No.6 position over #48
Julia Scaringe. Jessica Balbuena took #24 Jessica Lehnhoff to three sets
before falling 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-2 at No. 2. #32 Alida Gallovits took a loss
from Whitney Laiho at the No. 1 position and Nanette Duxin fell at No. 3 to
#11 Balli Camino 6-1, 6-0. Marina Raic fell at No. 4 to Stephanie Hazlett
6-2, 6-4 and Ali Weber fell to #12 Traci Green 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5.

The Lady Seminoles return to action on Saturday, February 12. FSU
will head to Auburn for a 11:00 a.m. match-up with the Lady Tigers.
