TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –The Florida State women’s tennis team (1-1) heads to Nashville, Tenn. to compete in the ITA Kickoff Weekend hosted at Vanderbilt. The Seminoles will take on Virginia (1-1) on Friday, January 26 at 12 p.m. ET and either Vanderbilt (0-0) or Nebraska (0-0) on Saturday, January 27.
The Garnet and Gold begin the weekend against a familiar foe as they take on Virginia. Florida State leads the all-time series against the Cavaliers 24-12. The Noles defeated Virginia 4-2 a season ago. Florida State trails in the series against Vanderbilt, 2-10. If Florida State takes on Nebraska, this will be their first-ever meeting.
The Seminole look to get back on track after a loss to Illinois a week ago. With two wins Florida State will qualify for the ITA National Indoors in Madison, Wis.

The ITA Kickoff Weekend is a nationwide event held across 15 host sites for both men and women’s tennis. The teams hope to qualify for the 2018 ITA Division I National Women’s Team Indoor Championship in Madison, Wis. February 8-11.
